Cause of Raisi's helicopter crash
In a report on Sunday, September 1, Al Jazeera reported that the final investigation into the crash of Ibrahim Raisi's helicopter and his death showed that the accident was caused by bad weather.
The investigation team attributed the accident to bad weather and atmospheric conditions in the region during spring, and the helicopter crashed into the mountains due to sudden thick and heavy fog at the crash site. However, last May, Iran's military said that there was no conspiracy or criminal activity involved in the accident.
The helicopter carrying Raisi, 63, and his entourage crashed into a misty mountain in northern Iran. It killed the president and seven others, including Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdullahian. After that, the country quickly organized presidential elections.
