Barrow County, Ga. - Multiple people were injured Wednesday morning during a shooting at Apalachee High School in Winder, Barrow County, according to Barrow County Sheriff Jude Smith. One person has also been taken into custody.

The Barrow County Sheriff's Office told Fox 5 Atlanta that multiple law enforcement agencies and emergency responders responded to a report of an active shooter around 10:30 a.m.

SkyFOX 5 also observed students and staff on the school's football field and saw at least two people being loaded into a medical helicopter and ambulance.

Shortly before 11:30 p.m., the school told Fox News that the school had been evacuated and students were being released to their families. The school also said buses will take home any students who don't have transportation.
