Russia warned the US about the risk of World War III

Russia has warned that the West is playing with fire by considering allowing Ukraine to strike deep into Russia with Western missiles. This could lead to World War III; Moscow warned Washington on Tuesday that it would not be limited to Europe.

On August 6, the Ukrainian military attacked the western Kursk region of Russia. The attack on Kursk is considered to be the largest foreign invasion of Russia since World War II. Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Russia will respond appropriately to this attack.

And Sergei Lavrov, who served as Putin's foreign minister for more than 20 years, said the West was trying to escalate the conflict in Ukraine and "create trouble" by considering Ukraine's request to ease restrictions on the use of foreign-supplied weapons.

Since the start of the Ukraine conflict in 2022, Putin has repeatedly warned of the risk of a wider war with the United States, the world's largest nuclear power. He said, however, that Russia does not want a conflict with NATO, the US-led Western military alliance.

Speaking to reporters in Moscow on Tuesday, Lavrov said, "We are now confirming again that this is a game with fire and they are playing matches like little children; Which is very dangerous for elder uncles and aunts. Especially those entrusted with nuclear weapons in one or more Western countries.

He said Americans unequivocally regard the discussion of World War III relations as something God forbids. And if this war breaks out, it will suffer exclusively in Europe.

Lavrov also commented that Russia has clarified its nuclear doctrine. Russia has repeatedly warned of a growing nuclear threat since the war with Ukraine began. The United States said Moscow should take the warning seriously. US officials say they see no change in Russia's nuclear threat.

Russian President Vladimir Putin is waging war in Ukraine as part of a century-old war with a declining West. He said NATO's expansion after the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989 had eroded Russia's historic sphere of influence and humiliated Moscow.
